"Location is wonderful, very peaceful and spectacular views from the patio. Beds and sofa very comfortable though a feather pillow option would have been nice. Kitchen facilities and showers good. Pool very welcome in hot weather and well kept."

"Some crockery, cutlery and saucepans needed cleaning properly on arrival. Instructions for A/C would be helpful. I found it impossible to adjust in the twin bedroom. There should be a warning about the depth of most of the pool. Could be dangerous for small children. Also, the walk from the car park to house is very steep although short. Hard for the elderly!"

"Everything !!! Such a lovey house, ideally suited is two couples. Great written instructions from owner Vincent before and also in the house -read them as so many tips to enjoy Beynac. Just a note : The stairs were very steep up to the top floor (larger) bedroom, and then also down to the lower (smaller) bedroom. Not a problem for us, just be aware as wouldn’t suit anyone with mobility issues or very heavy luggage !! Martine the housekeeper was fabulous even though no English ( and very little French on our part ) we managed to communicate and with lots of laughs."

"The only areas I could think of for added benefit: -a drying rack for clothes, for those items that you don’t want / can’t put in the clothes dryer -aircon in the lower floor bedroom (only a fan) -A pod (eg nespresso) coffee machine instead of a drip filter pot"

"Mont Joie is the perfect holiday home. It is beautifully decorated and feels like your own private mini-chateau—and the views are a dream. The hosts (Vincent and family) and the lovely manager (Martine) have thought of every comfort and kindness. There’s AC for the scorching summer heat and a marvellous heated pool to while away sunny afternoons overlooking the Dordogne, hot air balloons, and some of the local chateaux. I couldn’t recommend this place, and the hosts, more highly. We’ll be back, and we’ll be dreaming of Beynac and Mont Joie until our return!"

"Hameau très calme, aucun vis a vis, maison authentique et spacieuse. jardin et piscine avec vue sur le chateau de Beynac. Vols de montgolfières le matin splendide."
